On Pace for Greatness
I must say that I'm quite pleased to see the lack of public interest in Barry Bonds this year. I think it has been widely accepted by fans across the nation that Bonds is going to break Aaron's record based on the pace he has been on thus far, much to my chagrin, but the story this year has absolutely been Alex Rodriguez owning American League pitching. Through 19 games, Arod has already hit 14 home runs, tying Pujols' record for dingers in the month of April.

Personally, I've never been a big Arod fan because he was always the dominant force in baseball and we all know how I feel about those but I find myself supporting him greatly this year. I would love to see this man of apparent integrity steal the spotlight from Bonds and maybe even break his record...?
Especially after the hubbub this off season regarding Arod vs. New York/Derek Jeter, I'm glad to see the comparative underdog take over New York. I'm rooting for him this year. I'd love to see things continue this way, have Arod hit 80 home runs and have the Yanks finish last in the AL East (where they are now).
See you in the stands,
NAG
